Forgive me father, for I have sinned. It has been years since my last confessional. Well there's no delicate way to put this. Up until about a month ago … wow, this is hard to say … I had never had … please forgive me ... ceviche. I know, I know. What have I been thinking all these years? When did I wander down the path of wicked and despair? But alas, I have changed! I have tasted the wonder. I have basked in its glory, and I have discovered the place to make all your ceviche dreams come true … La Cevicheria. I got the push in the right direction from my Auntie Grub, and the final jolt from my Grub-buddy Anthony F. So if you were as lost as I was, or even if you're a seasoned ceviche-conessuior, there's no excuse for not heading down to this unbelievable Grub-spot ... now. If you are in fact new to the ceviche-trade, let me try to break it down for you mi amigo … start with some super fresh, ultra flavorful fillets of fish, succulent shrimp, chunks of crab, morsels of … octopus? (Yeah, it's pretty much anything you can handle) … And then they patiently wait as it all marinates in a citrus bath, soaking up all the juices, cooking in the acidity, planning its attack on your taste buds. Pair it up with some avocado, a little cilantro, an extra squeeze of lime, and a dash of hot-sauce … well it's only time before you fall in love with the super-light yet incredibly-flavorful ambrosia that you'll find at La Cevicheria. With no real background to rely upon, we just ordered a bunch of stuff … a shrimp ceviche tostada, a fish ceviche tostada, and the mother load … the Guatemalan Mixed, a goblet filled with shrimp, octopus, and crab. Each order came loaded on top of (see the tostada) or accompanied by (see the Goblet of Glory) fresh-n-crispy, perfectly salty, goldeny-delicious-fried corn tortillas. Screw forks and knives, I'm using these amazing circles of happiness for everything I eat from now on. Because break off a piece and dip it directly into the massive glass of ceviche, and just try to stop smiling as you take each bite … slowly being overcome with the realization that you've found all that is right in the world. So wait no longer, head down to La Cevicheria for some seriously Good Grub … you don't know what you've been missing. But let me give you a hint, it rhymes with GRUB!
