The Good Grub

Golden Apple Diner
Have I ever told you how badly I want to be a "regular" at a restaurant? "Give me the usual, Mary... yeah, you know me, extra pickles..." I wouldn't even care what the usual was but I'm pretty sure I've found where I want to get it at... say it with me class... The Golden Apple. You might have heard of this legendary grub spot from an NPR story a while back, where the reporters hung out at the all-night diner for 24 straight hours. To that we say... piece of cake. Because when the Grub is good and they've got everything from Belgian waffles to a Ribeye Steak on the menu... why would you ever need to leave? The Good Grub came in for a little three AM snack of blueberry pancakes and a side of crinkle-cut fries... what else? Because remember my friend... friends most definitely do let friends Grub drunk. Regardless of how many libations we might have consumed, I can tell you one thing... this place is legit day or night. We started off with some fluffy pancakes, covered with blueberries, doused in grade-a, drink-it-straight-from-the-bottle blueberry syrup, and topped off with a healthy heaping of powdered sugar. Then we followed it up with some fresh-hot-n-crispy crinkle-cut fries and some of my Grub-buddy-Blake's special pepper-ketchup and just sat back and thanked the Grub Gods that this place exists. But aside from the food, I'm convinced that in another life, I was best friends with the Golden Apple crew. Because hands down, I don't think I've ever met a more friendly group... especially not at three in the morning. But I guess that's the sign of a classic Grub spot... great people and even better food... and trust us, the Golden Apple's overflowing with both... and blueberry syrup.
